PERCEPTION IS REALITY

  • We all have our own set way of looking at the world.

  • Our viewpoint is based on the way we see things.

  • Whatever you believe affects you.

  • How we see reality is based on our experiences.

  • You are what you think.

  • We radiate what we believe and think.

  • Everyone regards the world from his or her point of view.

  • Perceptions are influenced by our social surroundings.

  • There is nothing real outside our perception of reality.

  • Your belief controls your experience of life.

BE STRONG - DO NOT QUIT

  • We need to have it in our character to come back from diversity.

  • One does not drown by falling in the water, one drowns by staying there.

  • We must pick ourselves up again and press on despite the pain.

  • When things seem at their worse, that is when you should not quit.

  • It is the tough things in life that make us strong.

  • One has to be able to take a good punch in life and keep getting up off the hard mat ---

  • Obstacles are steps to overcoming.

  • The closer one gets to the pinnacle, the steeper the grade.

  • The seed grows in the valley, not on the mountain top.

PAIN - WOUNDS - SUFFERINGS

  • Many times the greatest lessons that one learns in life are through their sufferings.

  • Two things can come out of the fire of suffering, either gold or ashes, it is up to you.

  • When things get real bad, we meet our true self.

  • We have all been through our own personal holocaust.

  • Sorrow and pain come upon all flesh.

  • Physical wounds sometimes heal faster than mental ones.

  • One of the best ways to get over hurt is to address the hurt of others.

  • In tragedy we discover more about ourselves.

  • The wounds were so deep I had to re-invent myself.

  • It was a serious psychological and emotional injury.

  • The pain does not go away, but you can learn to make it constructive.

  • It is common sense to know at one time or another the world will break your heart.

  • Living with inside scars that are more damaging than outside slashes.

  • I am still in mental recovery.

  • We need to meet people at the depth of their hurt.

  • Pain can bring sensitivity to another’s wounds.

  • This culture and most of humanity need a healthy understanding of human frailty.

  • When people are suffering and broken they need encouragement, not condemnation that they are being negative or just wallowing in self-pity.

THE PAST IS NEVER THE PAST

  • The past is never really the past, it stays with us all the time.

  • The past colors our present and future conception of the world.

  • The past has shaped our beliefs, perceptions, and personality.

  • Our past experience is what made us.

  • The past always affects a part of our todays and tomorrows.

  • In some cases, the past can destroy a person’s present and future.

  • One cannot get into the present without taking a walk through the past.

  • A person cannot stand in the present without the residue and odors of the past resonating from their being.

  • We are identified by our character which has been formed by past experiences.

  • What one reaps in the future is what one sowed in the past.

  • What one has experienced and accomplished in the past greatly affects their future.

  • Past incidents play a major role in the future.

  • A wise person once said “Those who do not understand the past are doomed to repeat it”.

  • The horrors of the past can distort our judgment of the present.

  • One can learn a lot about present day life by studying the past.

  • By writing your own history, you write your own future.

  • There are times in a person’s life when many precious things are lost because of the major wrong choices made in the past.

  • The past is never the past when there are hard feelings present.

  • It is wisdom to remember that the past was only yesterday.

  • One’s choices and decisions from the past shape our present and future.

  • The past is the best route to understanding the present.

  • People who say “forget the past it is meaningless”, know little about life.

  • The past is part of our existence.

  • We are all linked to our past through tradition, culture, and experiences.
